Cancer, COVID, & Black America

Please join the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, along with Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX-32) for an intimate discussion “Cancer, COVID, & Black America” featuring partners from the sports world, including the Professional Football Players Mothers Association (PFPMA).  Produced by the Congressional Black Caucus for their Annual Legislative Conference.  Hear their inspiring stories and passion to eliminate racial disparities impacting cancer survival.   Featuring NFL and NBA players, including Malcolm Jenkins of the New Orleans Saints, De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings, and more.  ·       Black people have the highest death rate and the lowest survival rate of any racial or ethnic group for most cancers.

·       Early research shows patients whose cancer is getting worse or spreading are more than five times more likely to die in the space of a month if they caught Covid-19.
